The P-trap was originally invented to hold water as a sealing mechanism between the drain itself and the sewer--which works pretty well in houses where there is lots of water and plenty of space.

But in RV's and boats that solution fails because space and water are both scarce.

Furthermore, this space problem became very frustrating to RV manufacturers who wanted to build showers into their RV's, where vertical space became extremely important. So to allow for a P trap under the shower, they quite literally built skylights over the shower to give RV owners enough headroom in the shower.

1,800 HepVo valves were used in the construction of the new and beautiful South Africa World Cup Soccer stadium in 2010.

The HepVo product was found unique to suit the application. Drying out of conventional traps between match days would require an expensive automatic flushing system. Secondly, remote installation of HepVo allows total concealment of the pipe, making installation theft- and vandal-proof.

HepVo was also used on the air-conditioning systems. HepVo allows air-conditioning condensate to be disposed conveniently to the soil stack, something which is not possible with conventional traps.
